Drawing Process

Wire-drawing is a process of reducing the cross section of wire rods by pulling them through drawing dies. The wire-drawing process begins with the fitting of the wire rods onto a pay off reel, whereby it is uncoiled and fed through a wire descaler to remove external oxide.

The cleaned wires are then fed through a die box containing lubricant powder, to coat the surface of the wires and subsequently pulled through a drawing die. The drawn wires are then recoiled using a recoiler to form drawn wire coils which are stored for sales to our customers or processed further by straightening into bars.
